The National Library of Spain hosts a colloquium on theater writing and its existence beyond the stage
Para muchos, el teatro es sinónimo de escena, interpretación en directo y representación efímera. Sin embargo, antes de que un texto cobre vida sobre las tablas, existe como libro, como literatura con su propia identidad y desafíos. Esta fue la premisa del coloquio La vida difícil del libro teatral: su existencia fuera de los escenarios, organizado en la Biblioteca Nacional de España dentro del II Ciclo Escribir y sus circunstancias, en colaboración con la Asociación Colegial de Escritores de España.
El evento reunió a figuras destacadas del ámbito teatral y editorial: la editora Conchita Piña, cofundadora de Ediciones Antígona y de la Liga de Mujeres Profesionales del Teatro; el dramaturgo y poeta Alberto Conejero, galardonado con el Premio Nacional de Literatura Dramática y el Premio MAX; y el historiador y crítico teatral José Luis González, miembro de la Academia de las Artes Escénicas de España. La moderación estuvo a cargo de Ángela Monleón, directora de la revista Primer Acto.
For many, theater is synonymous with stage, live performance and ephemeral representation. However, before a text comes to life on stage, it exists as a book, as literature with its own identity and challenges. This was the premise of the colloquium The difficult life of the theatrical book: its existence outside the stage, organized at the National Library of Spain within the II Cycle Writing and its circumstances, in collaboration with the Collegiate Association of Writers of Spain.
The event brought together prominent figures from the theater and publishing world: the editor Conchita Piña, co-founder of Ediciones Antígona and the League of Professional Theater Women; the playwright and poet Alberto Conejero, winner of the National Prize for Dramatic Literature and the MAX Prize; and the historian and theater critic José Luis González, member of the Academy of Performing Arts of Spain. The moderation was carried out by Ángela Monleón, director of Primer Acto magazine.
